The Mathematics of Engagement

Training budgets are  under constant scrutiny. We need to achieve more and increase the impact of every $ we spend on training. No matter what  our goal, who we are training or how much effort we have invested,  we have all seen low engagement levels harm our efforts. You could be throwing away more than 75% of your training budget.

Numerous  factors impact trainee engagement:

  • Is the training relevant to me?
  • Do I have the right mindset?
  • Do I go through an emotional experience?
  • Is it correct timing?

The balancing act of optimizing so many interconnected factors is like an art. For example: Videos could be emotionally engaging but are very expensive to customize for specific topic and population. Charismatic Instructor can do miracles – but once you find such a treasure how can you duplicate and scale?

We need some kind of a method, knobs that we can adjust in order to get exactly what we need in the most efficient way.

    I’m really enjoying the theme/design of your weblog. Do you ever run into any web browser compatibility issues? A number of my blog audience have complained about my site not operating correctly in Explorer but looks great in Safari. Do you have any tips to help fix this issue?|
